That, combined with excellent writing plus the tantalizing possibilities that are clearly future and yet almost within reach, make the show entirely engrossing. <br />But every now and then there are curious anachronistic elements that enter the show for reasons that I cannot imagine. For example, in the latest episode (4), there were two - the use of video tape, and the presence of a rotary dial telephone. In order to get the latter, I'd have to go to Ebay to find one - already this has largely vanished, so why have it in this future place, even as a colony? Video tape was also a mystery to me - I would expect everything to be digital and solid state, as most things are already - why have the characters use them?
