Run by the Manchester Royal Exchange, entries will be open to all and anonymous, with a first prize of £15,000. Submitted plays must not have been previously produced.
"In the same way that the Booker is the public face of literature, we're hoping that this award can revitalise playwriting as a craft," said Braham Murray, one of the Exchange's artistic directors..."We're encouraging epic plays - the bigger, the better."Full details will be available next month.
