Workers at the King’s and Festival Theatres are being balloted on strike action following seven months of wrangling over job cuts. Talks between management and unions broke down over two compulsory redundancies at the council-owned theatres, which are run by a joint trust, Festival City Theatres Trust.Strike action could hit the theatres during the Edinburgh Festival this summer.
